Help with Headmon

Headmon is maintained as a small independent project. Reports are welcome, and protecting your diary comes first.

Questions and requests

Use GitHub Issues for project questions, reproducible bugs and feature requests. Choose the form that best matches what you want to report.

Protect your diary: never attach or post a Headmon backup, CSV or PDF export, medical document, private photo, exact location or other health information. Describe the behavior using invented example data instead.

A public report containing personal or health information may be removed without a response. If you accidentally post private information, edit the issue or comment immediately to remove what you can. Copies, notifications or caches may still remain.

Security reports

Do not open a public issue for a suspected security or privacy vulnerability. Use GitHub’s private vulnerability report and include only invented, non-sensitive reproduction details.

Before reporting a problem

  1. Check the Headmon version and build under Settings → About Headmon.
  2. Restart Headmon and, if appropriate, restart the device.
  3. Create a complete backup in a private Files location before reinstalling, resetting data or testing an import.
  4. Note the device model, operating-system version and the exact steps that caused the problem.
  5. Remove or replace all real diary details before sharing a screenshot.

Data recovery and migration

Headmon has no server copy of your diary and the developer cannot recover deleted local data. Optional automatic backup can keep the two newest complete copies inside Headmon or in a Files folder you explicitly select. Local-only backups are deleted with the app, so create a complete backup in Files before uninstalling, resetting the diary or changing phones. The same complete ZIP format moves diary data, photos and weather history between Android and iOS.

Keep every export private. Backup, CSV and PDF files can contain sensitive health information, exact dates and times, free-text notes, coordinates and place names. Headmon cannot recover or delete a copy stored with iCloud Drive or another Files provider.

Installing and updating Android

Headmon is moving to Google Play as its only Android distribution channel. Read the Android availability and migration guide. If you previously used a manually installed build, create a complete backup in a Files folder before changing installations. Uninstalling removes the on-device diary and local-only backups.

Medical notice

Headmon is a personal diary and pattern-viewing tool. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent a medical condition and is not a replacement for professional care. Contact local emergency services for urgent medical concerns. Read the full informational-use and medical notice.
